Some important things of PMJJBY

If the Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana policy holder dies due to accident, illness etc., the nominee of the policy holder gets an insurance claim of up to Rs 2 lakh. It may be noted that PMJJBY is a term insurance plan which can be availed only after the death of the policy holder. On the other hand, if the policyholder is disabled in an accident, he can claim Rs 1 lakh. If the policy holder is alive then his family will not get the benefit of this amount. In this scheme you can buy between 18 to 50 years.

How much premium has to be paid?

You have to contribute only Rs 436 per year for the application of PMJJBY. Before the year 2022, only 330 rupees had to be paid for this, which was later increased to 426 rupees. The premium of this insurance is valid from June 1 to May 30. In this policy premium is deducted through auto debit system. In such a case, on June 1, the money is automatically deducted and credited from your savings account.

Policy application and claim process

You can buy this policy by visiting any bank branch. Every year on 1st June from your savings account through auto debit mode Rs. 436 will be deducted. When the nominee has the right to claim the policy. You can claim the policy by showing the death certificate of the policy holder and your ID proof. Apart from this, the policyholder can also claim for insurance for being disabled. For this you have to show the discharge report. Money will be transferred to your account.
